An Incredible Trip

We just returned from an amazing trip to Lynchburg, Virginia. We were so blessed to attend the reunion of the Youth Alive/Youth Aflame ministries form the early days at Liberty University.
My Father-in-law, Gordon Luff was honored by over 300 of his former students! I wasn't even a part of the LBC Chorale groups or the youth ministry back then, but what a tremendous blessing the weekend was for my family and me. I will never be the same!
The hardest thing is the "getting there" all the way from California! Lindsay insisted she sit by Daddy on each of our flights (I really did try to get her to sit by me...). She basically talks non-stop, asking many questions and I think she says whatever pops into her head! It can be exhausting, but she is so precious.
These two look so sweet and loving, don't they? Well, don't let the sweet smiles fool you...they were banned from being within 100 feet of each other! (and as you can see...my oldest is no where in sight!)

The journey was well worth the stress! When we arrived at our hotel room, look what was on the desk!!!
The next morning was a wonderful treat! I MET Denise, Dolly, Nikki and baby Colton at Cracker Barrel. It was as if we had known each other forever! Blog friends are AWESOME! Shae came with me because she wanted to see if they were really, real! Scott even showed up at the end of our meal to see for himself!
This little guy is unbelievable! He didn't make a peep! He just grinned all over himself while we talked!
Thank you so much girls, for taking time out of your busy lives to come have breakfast with us! I will never forget it! I treasure our new found friendships! Each of you is as lovely as I had pictured, and even more fun than I imagined!
After breakfast, Shae and I were freezing (although the weather didn't stay cold for long), so we changed clothes and headed to TJMaxx where we ran into Nikki's mom!! She was talking to Nikki on the phone asking if I had on a pink shirt...when our eyes met I already knew who she was! How random is THAT!? I was able to see Patty a few more times over the weekend during the reunion activities too. She is Gor-ge-ous!! (just like Nikki!)
There are too many pictures to share in one post, so I will post a little at a time. The weekend was so busy and so fun! (and I have about 500 pictures from it!) More tomorrow, so stay tuned!

If Scott came home tomorrow and said he wants to move to Lynchburg, I would pack up!

What a fun trip! I'm so happy to hear about it and see some pics. You should try doing an online book (CM of course) of the trip. It would be a perfect one to do!

I'll be looking forward to seeing more pics!

Scott Lawrenson, you commented my blog!!! I can die happy now!!

It is always fun to see our former roommates -who we are responsible for getting together- thank you very much!!

Did you get the text message pic Scott sent you? Carly was our waitress the next night at dinner!!!

I WOULD LOVE to come live in Lynchburg! Maybe we could be neighbors...wouldn't you love it if I borrowed a cup of sugar?
(and the best part would be you babysitting for us now that you are empty nesters!!)

Man, I thought traveling with toddlers in airplanes was tough...don't tell me that it still is tough when they get big!!!!

I'm so glad your family had fun in Lburg. I wish I could have come up to see you all, too! How funny that you met Mrs. Brewere in TJMAXX:)

Inger so nice to see your pictures! It looks like you had a great time in the burg--which is true because every time I ran into you, you were all smiles.

I hope you are getting back to normal after the long week and long trip.

BTW, I would love to have one of those cookies right now. Hmmm maybe I'll make some.
