Dorm Room Shopping!

I hate the thought of Shae being in Virginia next year...SO far away from home, but I KNOW she will have the time of her life! One thing that is keeping me from being a complete basket case is shopping for her dorm room! It has been so fun figuring out what she will need and picking out fun, cute things too! She chose a color scheme very similar to the one she has at home.

I'm sure Scott doesn't "get it" but he certainly "gets ME", so he has said nothing. Nothing like "you realize we have to get all that stuff from California to Virginia." No worries! The New Kathy Von Zealand zebra print 3 piece luggage set (that Shae is getting for graduation from Gma and Papa) will come in handy!

It's my coping mechanism~and he's a smart guy!

The Truth Shall Set You Free

Don't you just love it when you find something for your home that really reflects the truth you live in?! (That sounded a little "Oprah-ish, didn't it?)

Last week while we were in Sacramento I went to Nordstrom Rack and found these embroidered pillowcases...

I really can't believe they are so "spot on" truthful!! (I wanted to get a picture of Scott and me holding them but he was having NO PART of that~I wonder why???)

I also found these cute ones (again, embroidered!) for Shae's bed. I could hardly wait to get the sheets washed and ironed so I could see how cute they were on her bed! (yep, I iron sheets. You should try it, I have done 3 queen sets and 1 king set today, can't wait to go to bed tonight!)

BTW~we are in the process of making our list for "Shae's Dorm Room" if anyone has any suggestions, let me know! It HAS been a while since I have lived in a dorm...I am trying to think of anything and everything she may need next year. *SO FUN*

We have also just made our very first Liberty University tuition payment-OUCH!

Oh Happy Day!

Shae got her official acceptance letter from Liberty University "The World's Largest Christian University" today! She was extra excited about the laundry bag they included with the letter! (although I already got her a monogrammed laundry bag)

She is one happy girl! She has already applied for her dorm room {my old dorm!!!} and now she is waiting to "meet" her roommates! What an exciting time in her life.

Lynchburg, Virginia...here we come!!

It's Official

Well, it is OFFICIAL, Shae has been accepted to Liberty University!!

She will follow in the footsteps of 2 of her uncles and an aunt,

Her Papa,

and her parents! She is a FLAME! I am so proud, happy, apprehensive, nervous, excited and prayerful! Now that I am facing it, I don't know how on earth my parents let me, their only beloved child, leave San Diego to attend college in Lynchburg, Virginia. But, I am awfully glad they did.

Congratulations, Shae Marrin. You will have a BLAST! (and make good grades!)
