Busy Busy Busy

Gone are the days of sleeping in (for me and the two little sisters), hitting the beach and waiting for the dinner bell to ring. We are back in full swing with the school routine of homework, volleyball practice, grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning a whole house instead of just 2 rooms! But...this handsome guy asked me if I wanted to go out on the patio boat for the day last Thursday. ( Uh, let me think about that for a second...yes!) We raced out to Shasta Lake after the girls had all gone to school.
The gentle breeze on my face and the sound of the boat put me right to sleep on the ride! There were TONS of people out, even on houseboats, doesn't anyone have a JOB? (oh, wait, we were some of those people!)
It was such a relaxing day. We both floated on rafts and even fell asleep! We got home just in time for Lindsay's arrival on the school bus.
We're thinking we might try to make it a regular weekly date!

I told you it was relaxing! Scott was "done" for the rest of the day, but Lindsay was sleepy after school too, so she loved that he was on the couch. (VERY unusual for Scott to slow down and rest during the day!)

On Friday Scott had to go to camp for the weekend and Shae came home and announced that she and Maeghan were going to cook dinner and have a movie night.
They made Taco Soup, cornbread and cupcakes. Impressive!

Here are the silly seniors. They never even watched a movie...they talked to 2 friends who are at college on Skype and looked at pictures on the computer and laughed...a lot.

On Saturday, Anna and I had planned on going to a craft show up near camp. We dropped Lindsay off with Scott and headed to the show. It was kinda cute, but we didn't find anything that we couldn't live without....
except for this little cutie!
It is a gourd!! (my parents used to do lots of cute things with gourds when I was little). He will be so happy on our porch in October!
{we were NOT in the market for any toilet seats with horses painted on them!}

Anna got to ride a mechanical bull, we had a yummy lunch and saw some cute donkeys and miniature horses before heading back to camp.

What a wonderful surprise to see Gavin and Austin having lunch under the dining tent! Grandma and Papa had them for a week while their parents were on a little vacation and decided to bring them up to camp!
It was fun to hang out with them for the day.

Sweet Boys
Oh Gavin, how I LOVE it when you have that thumb securely in your sweet little mouth! Look at that darling profile!

And this picture is proof that Austin was born with a sin nature! (I was starting to wonder...he is 3 1/2 and is just now hitting a little bit of the "terrible twos") He would not stop pushing Gavin down!! Dottie and I could NOT believe it! He is such a sweet boy, but Gavin was easy prey I guess. Scott said he'll be sorry about a year from now when Gavin can push back!

On Sunday afternoon the varsity girls volleyball team came over to paint their t-shirts.
LOTS of talking and giggling...

We fed them a yummy taco meal complete with Mrs. Bartow's unbelievable salsa!

We dried the shirts on the trampoline. Here are all but 3 of the girls. We have a BIG team this year, which is wonderful...last year, we had 7!
We truly are back to being very busy, but we love it all!! I am so blessed to be able to be at home during these years when my girls are busy and involved in activities. What an added blessing to have the chance to get to know all their friends, and what a treat that they (Shae) actually wants her friends to come over to our house! {You bet I say yes when they want to hang out over here!}

Aww, great post Inger! It is 11:00 pm here and when I read about your Taco soup meal I got really hungry! Yum!

I am so jealous of your lake outing! One day I will be doing that sort of stuff with my Danny and I cannot wait! Gotta get these sweet kiddos of our raised first, and as crazy and it is at times, we love that too!

Cannot wait to see you in a few weeks!

Inger, I can tell that you are the "cool mom" at school and your house is the house to hang out!! That's great!

I think the weekly lake date is a wonderful idea! How nice that Scott can do that.

Oh, and I don't think I'll be in Lburg when you come:( That's the week Caroline starts school and it will be a busy one for us!

Loved that in the midst of the busyness you are still finding time to re-connect with your hubby and re-charge.

Coffee with Julie next week perhaps? Afternoon one day or evening?

Oh wow, laying on rafts and falling asleep?!?! That sounds like heaven right about now! :) Your life sounds so fun and your girls seem so sweet. That Shae is so beautiful. Is she going to Liberty next year?
